Rum Cake and Glaze

Cake: 1/2 cup peacans, chopped 1 box (18 1/4 oz) butter cake mix 1 package (4 servings size) vanilla pdding mix 1/2 cup water 4 eggs 1/2 cup rum Glaze: 1 stick butter 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup rum preheat oven to 325 degrees. grease and flour a 10" tube pan. sprinkle the bottom of the pan pecans. in a large bowl, combine all the other cake ingredients. beat for 2 minutes.pour the batter into the prepared pan. bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. remove the cake from the oven but DO NOT remove from pan. poke holesevenly over the cakewith an ice pickor skewer so that when the glaze is poured over the cake it will be obsored throughtout. to make the glaze, combine the butter,water, sugar and rum in a suacepan over medium heat. boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. pour the hot filling slowly over the cake. let cake stand a few minutes before turning out.
