Our family favorite Fun to make with children
recipe:
1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup crisco shortening 1 cup powdered sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 t. almond extract 1 t vanilla 2 1/2 cups flour 1 t. salt red food coloring Mix all together (except food coloring) Refrigerate until malleable. Does that make sense? Separate dough into 2 parts. Color one part with food coloring. From white dough, roll out one piece into about 2 inch rope. Do the same with the red dough. Lay the two strips side by side and twist to make a cane. Bake 375 until light brown. After cooling, sprinkle with powdered sugar
