1 c soft butter 1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed 2 1/2 cups sifted flour Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. With wooden spoon stir in flour until smooth. Dough will be stiff. Refrigerate dough several hours. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Divide dough into two parts. Refrigerate until ready to roll out. Roll one part at a time on a lightly floured board, to 1/3 inch thick. Cut cookies and place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 25 minutes and roll in powdered sugar.
