This was given to me by a friend Debbie Kelsey. She didn't brown the meat but I do. It's the best beef stew I've ever had!
3 pds veal or beef 1" cubed 1- 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes 1 cup celery 4 carrots 3/4 potatoes cubed 3 onions chopped 2 cups of peas or green beans 4 Tablespoons of quick cooking tapioca 2 bouillon cubes of beef or vegetable 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of thyme 1/2 teaspoon of rosemary leaves 1/2 teaspoon of marjoram 1/2 cup of parsley 1/2 cup to a cup of red wine In a 6 quart oven proof dish stir all together. Put in the oven and cook at 325 for 5 hours.
