servings: 24 cookies
From the same Elle Mexico article. Again, they don't necessarily need to be hearts.
180 g flour (6.5 ozs/slightly more than 3/4 cup) 125 g butter at room temp. (4.5 ozs) 1/2 tsp chile d'Espelette or Paprika 1/2 tsp ground pepper 1 egg and 1 egg white 6 pinches of salt Mix the flour, paprika, pepper, and salt together on a wooden surface (cutting board, work table etc.). Cut the butter into pieces and distribute them and the whole egg over the flour. Mix it all up with your fingertips until you have a univorm dough. Don't work the dough too much , just until it doesn't stick to your fingers. Wrap in plastic and let rest in the fridge for 30 minutes. Preheat the ovent to 350 degrees. Roll out th edough and cut the cookies with a cutter. Beat the egg white with a fork and brush onto cookies. Place the cookies on a non-stick baking sheet or a lightly greased and floured baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Let cool on a wire rack.
